Welcome and thank you for coming to my page. My name is Sayuri, but I go by Julie, which is my middle name (much easier to pronounce). If you’re reading this, chances are that you’ve tried everything you can think of to feel better. Most people don’t read random therapist’s websites just for funsies. If you do, then we might have another problem. Most people come here because they’re at their wit’s end. They do it out of desperation. I know I did. If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably been thinking about therapy for months, maybe even years but haven’t pulled the trigger. It’s easier to push it off, until it isn’t. Either way, I’m glad you’re here, even if there’s a skeptical part of you that doesn’t want to be here or doesn’t think this is going to help. In fact, be skeptical. It’s welcomed here, and important. 

This is a place where you invest in the most important aspect of life: relationships. Not just relationships with those around you but also the relationship you have with yourself. And dare I say that the relationship you have with yourself is the most important relationship you’ll ever have? Yes, more than the one you have with your children, your spouse, your parents, your friends. This is because you emulate what you are inside and it translates to the relationships you have with others. If you are filled with anger, sadness, resentment, anxiety, loneliness, fear, mistrust, and negativity, it will inevitably seep into your relationship with those you love. These parts of us tend to push others away, even though what most of us desire is peace and connection.

Coping skills are great but…

Eventually, self-care, journaling, and inspirational quotes no longer cut it and you think to yourself, “something’s gotta give” or “what self care? I don’t have time for that!” Either way, something’s got you feeing stuck. Maybe you can pinpoint exactly what it is, or maybe it’s just a deep-seated feeling that something’s not right.  But you know there’s more to life than this hamster wheel you feel caught in—a way to not just feel better day-to-day, but to understand the deeper roots of what’s caused it to begin with and doing the healing there. 

Therapy with me is about going past the surface level “symptoms” you’re experiencing today to the deeper root cause and doing the healing  there. This means you don’t just feel better—you are better.

Together, we can work towards releasing some of the burdens you carry, gain a better understanding of yourself and your needs, and create an inner compass that will help guide you through life. This compass will be unique to you, it is the essence of you, and once you have it, no one can take it away.
